Tyrell
Eduardo Vaccaro
Coe booth has a really intense story with Tyrell, the story of a teenager’s rough life. His dad, a former dj who has been arrested for illegal narcotics and his mom a jobless crack addict who broke down after her husband’s arrest. This story is about how Tyrell has to take care of his mother and his little brother. They have to move from shelter to shelter because the state took their house away and all their possessions. Tyrell drops out of school because of his hard conditions and his negative thinking. His mother won’t take care of his little brother because she is only concerned about herself. His little brother troy, (who is only seven) attends to special classes at school. The shelters that they are put in are not in good conditions and there are roaches everywhere.
Tyrell has a girlfriend Novisha, she attends to school and is a great student. Novishas father left her and her mom about 2 years ago. Her mother still loves him and she thinks that she can’t progress without her husband (like Tyrell’s mother). Novishas father visits them more often now and Tyrell is happy for this in a way. In a other way he doesn’t like it because he left them and now he wants to come back just because they will take care of him. Novishas family understands Tyrell’s situation so when he fights with his mom he spends the night over there. Tyrell sometimes gets into stuff with the wrong people.
His dads friends still contact Tyrell’s mother but not to help. Tyrell knows why and he isn’t happy with it. They give her money and buy troy new shoes and coats etc. he knows that the money is not legal or earned so he doesn’t like it. In Tyrell’s shelter he meets a girl called jasmine. Her father died when she was young and her sister has to take care of her. Tyrell becomes really close friends with Jasmine and they spend a lot of time together. She is helping Tyrell plan the huge party they are going to have. This party is to collect money for Tyrell’s family because his mom doesn’t work or even care about them.
If you want to know more about this story you will have to read it. In conclusion I really liked this story. It explains the life of this teenager who has a rough life and has to carry his family on his shoulders. The author describes everything very well and explains the situations clearly. When you get deep into it you feel like if you were in the story.

Teachers
I have about seven teachers here at school. Some are very strict than others and some are funnier than others. I really don’t understand why they get mad so easily. For example I was in Mrs. Trius` class talking with Paulo because she was checking something in her laptop so while we waited we talked. Suddenly she got mad and yelled and sat me alone.
When I was doing my bellwork with my table she just said don’t let him copy you, sat me alone (again!) and made me look up for every word and its definition in the dictionary. Last year Mr. Borras was a much funner teacher. We could talk in his class and discuss our math problems with a little more creativity. He was all relaxed and calm. Now he is all tightened up and is mad about something (I think.)

Most Of The Time
she yells
and yells, but I dont care
I start listening to my music.
trying to cancel
Everything around, but i just cant.
Her hands... in the air pointing at my sister.
she is scared to death and my mom
Mad as hell...
There are many things running across my mind
If i could i would yell them out at the top of my lungs.
Sadly i cant or else i will get punished...

Always
Mad. Many times I’m just too lazy to do it so I say yes… they always believe me because they trust me. You always ask me how I’m doing in school, I say fine when actually I’m missing home works and stuff because if I tell you…
You would tell me why I’m lying.
You always ask me how my grades are going or have I read any books. I say that they are all As and Bs but when the report card comes that’s not there…
I really don’t know why I’m so lazy… I know it’s not right so this year I hope not being so lazy.

Eduardos Notebook
In my notebook I have poems about sports and teamwork. Some times when you are playing you just get tired or you can get injured, but never give up. Nobody likes loosing and everybody loves winning. You have to know how to lose and how to win because like in life you wont have succes in everything, but you must remember to never giv up

The Game
We were all getting ready
For what we all thought would be an easy game
The wind blowing, the people getting settled and the ref talking
The coin fliped as we all hoped and prayed we would winn
They wonn the flip and we all walked back thinking its on!

Push ups
The only two words I heard were: Both of you, down. 10 push-ups. Later Ricky and I kept on fighting in the car but who cares.

Field day
some minutes later we went down to leave our things and then leave. Our first activity was capture the flag. Sadly we tied in that with Mrs. Trius`s team. It was kind of funny because Gabriel (Mrs. Trius son) is in my tribe and it was mother against son and they started telling things to each other. When the field day was ending Jorge calvo threw water to Jaime inside his pants, but he was stupid enough to do it in front of rs: Sosa so he got himself in trouble.

Math class
Shot
''Nada de eso.'' He told me. ''Estaba saliendo de la casa y bla! me callo la bala justo en la pierna.'' I couldnt believe that. From all the people there the bullet fell on him. I asked him if he called the police or what. He just told me that he fell there in pain and shock. Them he told me that he has four children. He also told me that he wanted to get out from there because it wasnt safe and he didnt want that to happen to his kids.
